RESOURCES
So Many & So Few
Below are some articles, book and video resources on Whiteness and Racism. There are so many and yet never enough. This list is not all inclusive and only represents some information I’ve come across in my efforts to better understand my own cultural conditioning and the ways whiteness has shaped me, my perceptions of the world, and what I know and don’t know about myself, what I can know and can’t know. I’ve also made reference to many of these resources in facilitating anti-racism affinity practice groups with fellow white folx. If you have resources that have been important to you, please contact me and I’ll add them!
Knowing where or how to start can be intimidating. My suggestion is just start. Pick one article, book or video (long or short) and then follow wherever that takes you next, unless anxiety encourages you to retreat. Don’t retreat. Retreat causes harm. It allows whiteness to continue to blind white folx and allows racism to carry on. Courage can help us be part of what makes the world a safer place for everyone.
