Cultivating Diversity, Belonging, Equity & Inclusion Leadership in Community
How might we increase our awareness of the fullness of people and create an organization and community space that is open, inviting, inclusive, and diverse?
This calendared training series is for a specific community. If you would like us to facilitate a similar program for your community leaders and teachers, please contact us.
This training series consists of the following:
3-hour introduction, context, and team-building session
6-Week class series (each class is 90 minutes)
This training series is interactive and invites participants to meet their growth edges related to:
Learning and using Guidelines for Necessary Conversations to facilitate careful, compassionate, and mutually respectful learning efforts
Learning, understanding, and appreciating that implicit bias is an inevitable aspect of conditioning
Revealing, facing, and intentionally working to manage and overcome the limiting effects of implicit bias on you and your organization
Recognizing the fullness of people by learning about, understanding, and honoring the intersectional aspects of a person’s identities
Learning, understanding, and appreciating how social system dynamics develop and determine who is valued by the system, who is devalued by the system, and the criteria for privileging or suppressing/oppressing/ignoring.
Learning, understanding, and appreciating the difference between equality, equity, and liberation
Learning, understanding, and appreciating that liberation for any is inextricably tied to liberation for all
Learning about, recognizing, and addressing the effects of trauma (personal and systemic) on individuals and systems of people
Using careful, respectful, and compassionate interactions, recommended readings, discussions, mindfulness and compassion practices, and interactive exercises, we’ll gather to explore your organization’s or community’s interests, visions, commitments, and methods for building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive community.
