This training is for KP mental health providers to learn about SCPMG’s regional Transgender Care Program. Attending this training is a prerequisite for those who want to complete gender assessments and treatment recommendations/letters at Kaiser for Kaiser patients. During this training you will:

• Gain competence in recognizing and providing culturally competent care to transgender and gender nonbinary patients

• Deepen your understanding of psychosocial stressors that are unique to this population

• Increase competency in the area of clinical management for transgender and gender nonbinary adolescents and adults, including assessment and psychiatric diagnosis and supporting patient readiness for medical interventions.

• Learn how to complete a gender assessment and provide the necessary documentation to support members achieve their gender-affirmation goals in accordance with KP SCAL pathways
